The Allegan County Drain Commissioner held a public hearing on August 1, 2016 regarding the revised assessment role for the dam repair. It resulted in the overall project cost going from approximately $315k to $421k.

A number of residents were present at the August 1 hearing and objected to the increase as well as the overall management of the project.

Regardless, the Drain Commissioner is proceeding with the revised assessment and is required to present it before the Allegan County Commissioners at the regularly scheduled August 11 meeting. The commissioners hold authority to proceed with the final taxation.

The meeting is held in the Board Room of the Allegan County Services Building.
