As part of the Allegan Township Board meeting on May 2, 2022, an updated feasibility study for Miner Lake was presented by Fleis & Vandenbrink Engineering. This study was funded by the township board at the request of the Miner Lake residents. The meeting was well attended and the township board opened the floor for brief comment/questions.

This material will be revisited at the normal Miner Lake Spring meeting on Saturday May 28. A representative from the engineering firm will be present.
We will publish an updated timeline for informational meetings and what steps our residents need to do to express their opinion on this project. So pleased stay tuned.

It is important to understand this is a Proposed District and there is the potential for adjustments going forward. Expect more detail at the Spring Meeting on the 28th.
The short answer is we approached this project with a few Core Objectives which focused on effective treatment of septic/sewer waste.
One goal was/is to address waste for the entire lake, but we propose the Crystal Cove exclusion given the presence of a community system which includes pretreatment and a contracted servicing/maintenance contract.
We welcome more feedback from residents (Crystal Cove or elsewhere).
We can discuss this in more detail at the Spring meeting (May 28th). but one of the main reasons is:
Crystal Cove has a community system that has been sized to county standards (without variance or undersized) and they have invested in an ongoing service agreement.
