We encourage interested folks to attend this meeting to show the Allegan Township Board your interest and support for the project.
The Allegan Township Board, in partnership with the Miner Lake Property Owners Association and our sewer task force, has been pursuing options for state and federal funding. As part of the work, the application process for the State of Michigan CWSRF (Clean Water State Revolving Fund) requires a brief public hearing before the May 1 filing deadline for the 2026 program year.
For reference, the total 2025 CWSRF budget was more than $97M, which was distributed to various water and sewer projects.
This hearing will inform the public that the Township is applying for funding and a proposed project plan. However, this is not a commitment to proceed with a sewer project.
A required public notice was posted on the door of the Township hall and the website, reading the following:

The meeting details are in the image above and repeated below in text.
Again, this meeting is NOT a referendum on the overall sewer project; it is an effort to submit necessary documentation for the State of Michigan CWSRF funding program. The team has regularly contacted representatives from EGLE and our engineering firm to ensure we have a correctly formatted application that best positions us for this round of funding.
Residents are welcome and encouraged to attend, but we anticipate this will be a structured meeting focused on the grant application. We will provide an update on the website afterward.
Further project details will be shared in the upcoming month and at our Spring Meeting on Saturday, May 24th.
