We received word from the Allegan County Drain Commissioner that her staff has removed two of the boards in the dam to begin lowering the lake level. The remaining two will be removed within a week or two to allow the lake to go to the normal winter level. By court order, the dam is to be at its normal winter level between Oct. 15 and Nov. 15.
So, if the weather cooperates try to sneak in a extra boating day or two.
