I received an e-mail update from Becky Rininger related to the work on the Miner Lake Drain. – Sam Martin

Dated: 11/13/2009

Just wanted to give you an update on both the level of the lake and also the drain project.

Work is to begin next week. The contractor will do the Melm’s crossing first, then move up to 118th Avenue and work upstream. This will allow the area to de-water as they work towards the lake.

The last stop log in the lake level structure was taken out today. By phasing in the removal, we have avoided flooding of Dr. Dargis driveway and also Stoney Creek Drive.

To assist the contractor during construction, we will be putting the stop logs in during the day time to minimize flow while they are actively working on the culverts. Logs will be removed at night. It is not anticipated that lake owners will see any significant changes in the level. On days that the contractor is working on cleaning the drain itself, all logs will remain out.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
