Current Lake Level – No Rain…

With the lack of rain recently, the lake is a bit lower than normal. We’ve not measured exactly, but it is approximately 3-5″ below normal summer level. Given the underground spring feeds and usual precipitation this is not typical for Miner Lake, but the recent dry weather has other area lakes reporting as much as 15″-20″ drops!

We know many residents have already pulled their boats, but for those who have not, be aware the lake may continue to drop until we receive some rain. We don’t want any boats stuck on lifts… 🙁

Also, the Drain Commissioner plans to perform the scheduled seasonal lowering of the lake starting around October 15th. This involves removal of one of the four top planks of the dam to allow gradual lowering. They then return around November 15th to remove the remaining three planks to keep the lake at the winter level.

In the spring they reverse the process, all four planks are reinserted soon after April 15th to allow the lake to rise to normal levels ahead of Memorial Day.
