The treatment is scheduled for Friday, August 15, 2025.
This is a follow-up treatment that is focused on a few small areas and is intended to address observations made on August 4, 2025.

The map below reflects the planned treatment areas. It is targeting primarily addressing Starry Stonewort and some Eurasian Milfoil.

Note: While the Miner Lake improvement Board charter only authorizes us to treat Invasive Plants, this specific treatment will have the added benefit of helping with some of the algae that has been observed in at least one of the channels. Those areas happen to also have Starry Stonewort and the recommended treatment of Copper Sulfate also knocks back algae. We plan to post additional information regarding the concerns about algae and how best to address it.

Note: Curly Leaf Pond Weed is not being treated as it is currently under control or has died back with the warmer water.

Residents in or near the restricted use treatment areas will receive notice on the day of treatment. Signs will be posted along the shoreline within 100 feet of treatment areas, indicating the products used and the specific water use restrictions that apply. Also, refer to the treatment map above for further details about the planned treatment areas.

The approved treatments PLM will be applying were selected for their proven track record, minimal usage restrictions, and overall cost. They include:
• 5 acre(s) of Starry Stonewort Copper Sulfate
• 1.25 acre(s) of Eurasian Milfoil with Flumioxazin @ 200.00 ppb

Use Restrictions

The areas receiving Copper Sulfate have no use restrictions.

The use restrictions only apply to the very small area being treated for Eurasian Milfoil, but the advised restrictions in areas treated include:
Swimming is restricted for 1 day in areas that were treated (running through Saturday, August 16, 2025)
Note: the open area of the lake is not restricted for use.
Watering of Turf (lawns) has a recommended 3-day restriction in areas that were treated
Watering of Ornamentals (plants and vegetables) has a recommended 5-day restriction in areas that were treated

We encourage residents to make note of the presence of these plants early in the season so that you can help inform us of their effectiveness throughout the summer season.
