We received word from the Allegan County Drain Commissioner that her staff would not be placing the boards in the dam (raising the lake level) any sooner than May 1st. By court order, the dam is to be at its normal summer level between April 15 and May 15.

Her office will monitor both the lake level and the forecast for rain beginning on May 1st. If by late in the first week of May there does not appear to be heavy rain, they will place the boards.

They tend to hold off on the placement to avoid early spring flooding and the likelihood of residents asking for partial removal of the boards.

If you have questions please comment below or call the Allegan County Drain Commissioner (Becky Rininger) or Miner Lake Association President Sam Martin.
