Thank you to all residents who prioritized reading our recent mailings and returning the survey!

We’ve received 53% of the surveys (128 out of 242 sent)—a fantastic total for any survey, but we still want to hear from all of you. There is still time to be counted!

As of March 3rd, the totals for the responses are:

Question 1:  Do you support Allegan Township, in partnership with the Miner Lake Property Owners Association, investigating options for a community wastewater system and potential grants/subsidies?

Question 2:  Right now, my overall feeling about sewer at Miner Lake is:

The message from these results, indicating a clear interest to continue the effort and reach a clear plan, was presented to the Allegan Township Board at the regular meeting on Monday, March 3, 2025.

They received copies of the previous letters, sample ballots, and the totals above. Given the clear community support, we requested that they continue supporting the project by approving $50k for us to complete the project designs and thoroughly investigate all applicable grant/subsidy opportunities.

After much discussion and some questions from the public, a motion was made and approved (4-1) to budget $50k for completing the Miner Lake Sewer Plan and Grant Options.

We are grateful to all involved to make this possible:

  • Our Residents for participating and making your opinion known
  • The Miner Lake Sewer Task Force for the many hours spent making this information available and the many hours ahead to help us reach a clear plan.
  • The Allegan Township Board for their renewed support and willingness to listen to the concerns of our community

The Miner Lake Sewer Task Force has been meeting weekly and will use the upcoming meetings to formalize an approach to best use these funds and reach answers as quickly as possible. Updates will be posted as available.
